Comedian Al Franken is neck-and-neck with incumbent Minnesota senator Norm “W” Coleman. (Background here and here.) He’s been the subject of attack ads and outright lies about his position from his Republican opponent. Now he’s responded with an ad that expresses remorse for some of his past jokes, and then steers the conversation back to the issues.
It’s a great example of how to respond to negativity while building your own story:
Not that Franken hasn’t attacked Coleman’s attempts to divert attention away from the issues by talking about his love of ice hockey. Last week his campaign released a viral web ad highlighting Norm Coleman’s terrible record on issues important to Minnesotans. Here’s the ad:

Not that I am at all suggesting you do so, but what is to stop one transferring money to a mate in the US, and getting them to make a donation?
